By far the best thing is taking a trek of two days with couple of friends in absolute wilderness and take a cracking shot at dawn with a 243 or maybe 7 mm at 600 yards + with a bolt action rifle. Prepare the meat there and then and have a breakfast. THAT is what life is ALL about.

I think the compound bow is a great hunting tool because seeing and deer run away and then like do a summersault is awsome.
Then the shotgun beceause its got a wide spread and more killing power.

I prefer the compound bow because of the close action. Much more gratifying to keep yourself as motionless as possible while on stand, only moving your eyes toward the sound then slowly , the head moves little by little, then timing your positioning movements, drawing your bow when the deer's eyes are blocked and making the shot. Next, I love the modern muzzleloader long shot (up to 200 yds) challange. When 3 shots at 100 yds are grouped within 3 inch group and your shot at deer has a solid rest, that's a thrill.

i have killed 2 deer this year with my bow i got a nice 10 point and it was 55 yards away but i got the job done. Well right now i am using a shot gun but i like a bow better it is more of a thrill to see it run away and die than dropping when u shot it with a gun.

Theres nothing like getting a big buck to come in at 20 yards and seeing that arrow go right on the mark.

try using wd-40 in your mock scrapes this year, be sure to twist branches above the scrape as well. they both drive big bucks crazy.

I like deer hunting with the bow because it is challenging. Hunting with a rifle or shotgun (or even muzzleloader) is too easy. Not to mention too dangerous. There are too many idiots out there that shoot at anything that moves. With the bow the new season starts at the end of the last (scouting, watching, and learning patterns is essential if you want to bag a good buck) I am not the best hunter out there, but I feel that bowhunters in general are better hunters than the rest because of the skill, patience, and tactics involved in being successful.

i love a long shot with my .243 but the thrill of killing a deer at 15yds and seeing the arrow come out of the deer is awesome.
