I like the paper catalogs a lot. Its easier to use than the web, like if you dont have dsl an just dial up or your phone it takes forever to load up the pages. then u end up wasting your break from work or your free time before you go to sleep jus waiting for the darn thing to load. but if you have the paper u can be able to take it anywhere. there's even times here in my town that the internet isn't available at all. maybe even jus use recylced paper. and whats three dollars? There's catalogs and magizines running more than five or six.

I think it's really cool that they are trying to cut down on paper usage, I do wish that the catalogs were still free, maybe they could print them one 100% recycled paper product...

In alot of ways the paper catolog is easier you can look throught it whenever you want and not only that it grabs peoples attention when they come over and they look at it and usually end up getting something from it I found out about you guys from a friend that got your catlog but the online version of it is more up to date and easier to find exactly what you are looking for I would pay three dollars for the catolog

I'd rather have a printed catalog so i can look at it anytime i want. I would pay 3 bucks as long as it was a master catalog with every thing you sold.I dont like buying online. And im not always by a computer to look at the catalog.

Why not just make a printer friendly catalog? that way you wouldn't be sending catalogs for no reason and people would print them to share with others. it's a win-win situation..

Like someone already stated, I wouldn't mind a paper catalog if it was free, and ONLY sent upon request for it, but otherwise, I'm happy with shopping on-line.

The free catalog was great because I'd show my friends, then they'd order, get on the mailing list, and re-order. Sending "paid" catalogs is great to keep costs down...so to meet halfway, TCEdge could only send out the free printed catalog by "request".

catalogs are nice for later reference, or a quick show to a friend. But I wouldn't pay for it.

No, I don't need a paper catalog either. I have no problems about shopping online. Granted TCEdge's website IS a little annoying trying to browse unless you know exactly what you're looking for, but c'mon. Save three bucks and some trees and email them to tell them to fix up their site if anything. lol

The problem with the Internet catalogue is that sure, you get it in your email, and you have the website, but the paper version includes the newest and already-best-selling items, something that's hard to read on the site. However, $3.00 for the standard Collector's Edge catalogue is incredibly high. I get why the company might want to cover the printing cost, but make it a much lower price, such as $.50 or so. I use the Internet to shop, but emailing gift ideas only proves that you don't interact with anyone that isn't made of pixels.

You better offer a PDF at least.
The real problem is the design of the Website.
It is hard to shop and look at what you have compared to other Websites. |

While I like having a catalog with me, I'd rather shop online and order that way. Plus, a lot of times the Paper Catalogs are outdated before they even get to your house, as inventory changes all the time. Best to save the trees and go digital. Perhaps offer an Digital PDF based Catalog, or maybe even use a Magazine style option through a site like Zinio?

No, I don't need a paper catalog. I shop online a LOT when I am in shopping mode. Hate Wal-Mart, hate the mall, and there's even a bunch of people at the discount club store. I am not a greenie, but I do love trees. Save'em if you can.

I agree with some that if we pay we should be credited if placing an order. You can always carry a catalog to share with others but you can't always carry a computer. Most of the time you like getting others opinions or thoughts about ordering and than sometimes they order as well.

Catalog? Yes!
Either way, customer pays for it...
I think if someone requests a paper catalog, they should get one sent to them promptly and for free. |

Sorry but oftimes I ruminate over possible selctions and also discuss them with my wife. Since we view and use our computers at different times attempting to "share" an electronic catalogue is unwieldy. We tend to gravitate toward companies with paper catalogues - sorry !

Some paid for magazine's are no longer in print they are online. cept they aren't quite as portable so they become irrelevant and I canceled them and consider them gone.

Looking at a catalog online may be fine but I am more apt to order from a paper catalog. But to buy a catalog is not in my nature. I have read one of the other responses in that the person would look through the catalog more often than look it up on the internet. I am the same way. Most of the time, I would carry the catalog around and look at it more often. My computer stays at home. I also have shared my catalog with others at times as well. That is my two cents worth.

I agree with the other poster - charge for the catalog and offer a refund if you make a purchase over $25 or so. I enjoy kicking back in my recliner looking at a paper catalog.

I spend enough time on a computer during the workday that spending MORE time on a computer to shop does not sound like the most pleasant thing to do. I am more likely to peruse a paper catalog more frequently because I don't have to be tied to a computer desk or to a keyboard & screen. Obviously the electronic version of the catalog is far superior in terms of up-to-date info and number of items presented. Some major reasons I would not pay for a paper catalog are...1) they do not include all items that are offered, and 2) the catalogs used to be quarterly, and I wouldn't want to keep paying for the catalog basically like a magazine subscription. If it was $3.00 for a big, hefty, comprehensive annual catalog, then I might consider it. Also, I have purchased items in the past; haven't I proven myself as a valuable customer already? Maybe you should consider offering free catalogs to those people who have purchased from you already. It seems like the right way to treat loyal customers (both from their point of view, and also from the company's advertising/marketing perspective).

Forget the whiners!!! Get rid of the wasteful paper catalogs and go online with it. If you have dial up, save the money you would spend on a catalog and upgrade your Internet service! Dial up? Seriously? They still use that? It's a dinosaur!
