I would think that "true" Republicans are most interested in getting a Republican in office, and in not hurting the Republican party with negative campaigning. Regardless of who wins the primary in the 94th district, the goal is to carry the seat for the Republican Party in November!!! Let's keep the campaign honest and dignified!! I want to point out inaccuracies in the comments that "Robert " and "Steve Garcia" has listed above. It is inaccurate and downright untrue to say that Ken Horn gave money to Dodak's campaign. I checked into this and Ken did not give ANY money to Dodak. His wife is Executive Vice President of The Saginaw County Chamber of Commerce and it is part of her job description to maintain productive relationships with ALL elected officials, regardless of party. Her job requires her to attend many community and governmental functions regardless of partican politics. However, Ken Horn HAS given hundreds of dollars to Rep. Kahn. Also, I researched the signs that are supposedly in the Democrate headquarters.....again, this is not true. The owner of Jake's restaurant, a REGISTERED REPUBLICAN, requested signs that he could put in his place of business (corner of Court and Hamilton !!!)promoting Ken Horn's campaign and like any other citizen who requests signs, this request was honored. The Dem headquarters isn't even in that building, but down the street from Jake's. I also checked into the comment that Ken Horn had a "failed" business. I found out that Ken Horn sold his business FOR A SIGNIFICANT PROFIT, after many years in business, just like any good business person would. I have asked at least 2 dozen people who personally know Ken Horn, past and present, and without an exception none of them have ever heard Ken Horn tell a lie or gossip or give misleading information about anyone. LET'S KEEP THIS CLEAN!! Any mudslinging WILL come back to haunt the Republican ticket in November, regardless of who is on the ticket!!! If you are a Republican that REALLY cares about party politics, get out of the mud and vote on ISSUES, not personalities, innuendo and misrepresentation of facts. See you at the polls tomorrow!! And let's support the winner in November !!!

I just want to say that Tim Kelly's offensive lit. pieces just show a person who is desperately grasping at straws. I guess if you can't win on your own merit - bash your competition. This is obviously what Kelly is doing because he can't/won't win this campaign on his own merits. Ken Horn is a decent hardworking person who cares deeply about the people of Saginaw County and Michigan and his integrity cannot be questioned. Can the same be said about a candidate who sends out negative campaign material with obvious mistruths?????

I find it amazing that if Steve is into politics as much as he might think he is that he would be able to spell Democrat correctly... Now to question him on a few points. A) Not a good Republican. Did you miss the hundreds of dollars that Mr. Horn donated to Roger Kahn? I think that if you look closely not only did Mr. Horn donate to Roger, but you'll see that Tim Kelly did not. B) I still think that when you discuss a good Republican you must look at all angles of their lives. If you look at the county board make up you will realize that with a 12-4 minority that you will not be able to simply vote with your own party. There isn't one member who has never voted on anything proposed by a Democrat(e) as you call them. C) Most importantly, don't forget that voting with a Democrat(e) on the county board is much different that working for one. Mr. Kelly talks about working for a governor, but he neglects the fact that it was a DEMOCRAT(E). In my experience I would rather vote real experience, not some paper pusher who has never had to make the tough decisions. I vote Ken Horn.

Why is addressing Ken Horns business practice, political record, and expossing that he is not being a true republican bad mouthing? All of what I have read is true. You will find Ken Horn's record on line or at the county hall. You can look at his filing and see who he has given money to. You can looking at his voting record on line. And you can ask many people from frankenmuth about his failed business.

The fact of the matter is that Ken Horn is finally being called out and exposed for what he is. Not a good Republican and a good Democrate!

I have lived in Frankenmuth my whole life and I have known Ken for over 10 years. I worked for him for 5 years. Anyone who says that Ken is not an honest business man obviously does not know him. I find it amazing that the way Mr. Kelly feels he will win is by bad mouthing his competition. I will be voting for Ken Horn.

For what I can see, Saginaw County needs knew leadership. Under Ken Horn, we have lost more jobs then ever, crime is rising all over the county, our education system is failing our youth, and Ken Horn believes that you should vote for him for his past experiences in the past 14 years. Well, if high crime, no jobs, and failing schools is a record that he wants to run on well then let's vote for ken horn.

On the other hand Tim Kelly has brought higher standards and bench marks to our public education system, and 1 billion dollars worth of jobs in Indiana. For what I can see, Tim Kelly is the change we need.

On August 08, 2006, vote for high crime, no jobs, and a low standards in our education system. Then you must vote for Ken Horn.

On August 08, 2006, vote for proven results in writing and implementing a sound education policy, and has brought 1 billion dollars worth of jobs in Indiana. You must vote for Tim Kelly.

OK! What I have been reading from Mr. Kelly and Mr. Horn in terms of direct mail is something that I have not seen in a election in saginaw county.

Mr. Horn is taughting that his experience for 14 years and all of his establishment endorsments is the reason why you should vote for him. He is pro-Life and Pro-Guns. But for what I can see in my own pocket book is that he is a tax and spend liberal republican.
I have done some research on him and for what I can see Ken Horn has raised our taxes 8 times.
I believe this is a trend that many Republicans must know and think about.

Yes, Tim Kelly has not held office, but has worked for Governor John Engler for education.
I found out that in Indiana that he worked for a Dem. Governor before John Engler. So, Governor Engler knew this a head of time which means that he felt that Tim Kelly is worth hiring.

On the other hand Ken Horn has put a sign up in the Democrate Club on court and Hamilton. And I also researched that he did give Aaron Dodak money for is 32nd State Senate race. He has voted with the Dems at the county level more then any other republican county commis combined. May be he is being lead by a hard core Dem in his family. These are questions and thoughts that must be asked and answered.

I will be voting for the true, conservative, republican candidate for the 94th State House.

I guess that in your research of Mr. Tim Kelly you forgot to notice that he has done nothing for Saginaw County. He never held elected office. He never has had to make the tough decisions for the betterment of an entire county. In fact where was Mr. Kelly between 2002 and 2006 when he wanted to run for State Representative? He sure wasn\'t trying to make himself known. Make sure the next time you question someone\'s conservative nature you not only check your facts, but you ask Tim Kelly which one is worse; Going to a fundraiser for a Democrat OR Working for a Democrat.

To those of you who believe Ken Horn is a good
Republican please wake up and read this.

Ken Horn is not a good Republican. He believes in throwing money at a problem and not creating good policy and procedure to save the tax payer their hard earn money.

Ken Horn gave money to Aaron Dodak. A Dem. running for the 32nd Senate seat. The same seat that Your current State Representative Roger Kahn is running in. Roger is running against Aaron Dodak. Why would a good Republican give a dime to a Dem. candidate?

Ken Horn has said in a speech in Bridgeport that he does not want to be a Republican Candidate but everyones candidate. Ken Horn has his Sign in the Dem's Club building in Downtown Saginaw right by a leftwing Candidate.
Take a look on the Corner of Hamilton and Court.

Ken Horn is in favor of raising your taxes for the Charle Brown's police department. Yet Ken has cut his department before, yet is asking you to raise your taxes for his poor judgement.
Shame on Ken Horn.

If Ken Horn is Honest then ask him about his business dealings in Frankenmuth.

Ken Horn also gave up on Our President twice when asked to step up to the plate and be the coordinator for George Bush's campaign in 2000 and 2004. You can ask any GOOD REPUBLICAN that was involved in both campaigns. The gave up! Not just once but twice!
What kind of a GOOD REPUBLICAN IS KEN HORN?

I have to say that if Chuck, Joanne, Alex (Who works for Goschka's office and working on Taxes Payers Time for Ken Horn) believes Ken Horn is Honest, Trustworthy, Wise, a BUSINESS MAN, then they are feeding everyone a line of garbage.

Ken Horn, since last year has tried to ruin anyone that has tried to run against him. He as spread lies to the business community in our county, at the state level, and in Washington D.C.

On August 08, 2006, Vote for TIM KELLY a man with real government experience at the state level. He brought 1 billion dollars worth of business in Indiana, help restructure education in Michigan, and will be able to write and introduce his own laws by himself and have some one do it for him like Ken Horn.

Vote for TIM Kelly a man of Republican values and the TRUE CONSERVATIVE in the 94th State House Race!

I fought for and was wounded for this country. For the right of Freedom of Speech. Still, I am appalled and disgusted to witness the lack of integrity, sleazy innuendo and misrepresentation of facts by one of the candidates in the 94th district race for State Representative. I firmly believe that the way a candidate conducts himself during a campaign is the way he will conduct himself once in office. A candidate who is wishy washy, undecisive, back stabbing, misleading and talking out of 'both sides of his mouth' in a campaign WILL still have those character characterists if in office. I want someone in Lansing that I can respect and trust. Please vote for someone who has proved his honesty, integrity, respectibility and wisdom. Someone who has real political experience and tough decision making abilities. Someone who has been active in our community for decades and has a proven track record on taking care of the needs of Saginaw County. On August 8 please VOTE FOR KEN HORN !!!

Ken Horn has 14 years of legislative experience and is the Saginaw Co. Board of Commission Legislative Liaison. Having worked for a Saginaw Legislator, I have seen Ken Horn regularly advocating for Saginaw Co. in our State Capital.

Why is it that I have worked in our Stae Capital for & years and only now have I heard his opponents name?

KEN HORN IS SO HONEST THAT HE SHOULD BE CALLED HONEST KEN. HE WILL DO A G R E A T JOB.

Ken Horn 2006-08-02 17:45:41 CET   25154
I am impressed with the honesty, integrity and knowledge that Ken brings to the table. I've never heard him "bad mouth" anyone, he always researches his decisions, and he's ruled by common sense and facts, not emotions and politics. I think he'd do a great job in Lansing. I trust him.
